Revelation 12 and 13 combine to teach us what Satan does throughout Christian history leading up to the very end of time. They also teach us exactly how he intends to do it. Although the prophecies predict that he will succeed at brutalising the world and mischaracterising God there are dissenters who stand with God and who have His name in their foreheads. They, like the children of Israel, who transition from the wilderness to the promised land, do not just follow God when it means escaping difficulty, they follow Him wherever He goes.
