The sadducees and pharisees were in it for power. According to Jesus they made a pretence of religion but were primarily in the business of self exaltation. This is why they had such a difficult time with His evangelistic mission. We aren’t in it for power… or are we? Our aim and our goal is to be in the Way for Christ’s sake and for the glory of God.
